Fact & Statistics - Dr. Wan-Yuo Guo, President XXI. Symposium Neuroradiologicum

XXI. Symposium Neuroradiologicum was held from March 19 - 23, 2018 with total attendance of 1,004 from 50 countries and with 39 industry sponsors. The 5-day Congress consisted of 74 sessions with 6 themes, including Brain, Head & Neck, Pediatric, Spine and Intervention, Highlights included special sessions such as "Master to Master” and "Junior Meets Junior”.
There were three types of presentations in SNR 2018: oral, poster and e-poster. There were128 oral presentations, 125 poster presentations and169 e-posters.

This year, the Organizing Committee unprecedentedly invited famous Taiwanese artists to join the congress by exhibited their artworks, as well as hosted tea art performances throughout the congress. Thus, it is the true form of realization and unification of "The Art of Healing, the Healing of Art”. For the attendees, the Organizing Committee hosted a "Photography Exhibition Competition” that allowed the attendees to submit their photography works and displayed them during the congress.

Time to promote WFNRS's Travelling Grant Program 
WFNRS is beginning its 2019 travelling grant program for attending major neuroradiological meetings. The WFNRS will now support four travelling grants every year of up to $2,000 each with the following distribution in 2019: 

Distribution - 2019
Two fellowships  to ASNR (Annual Meeting, May 18-23, 2019 - Boston, MA)
Two fellowships to ESNR (Annual Meeting, September 19-22, 2019 - Oslo, Norway)

The deadline for submission of the two grants to be awarded for the ASNR Annual Meeting this May in Boston is Thursday, January 31. 
Note:  The remaining two 2019 grants will be awarded to the ESNR Annual Meeting in Oslo, Norway scheduled for September 2019.  Additional details regarding this grant cycle will be published at a later date.

Exciting New Membership Benefit - Galileo Educational Tool on WFNRS Website

Dr. Nick Bryan, Past President kindly finalized Galileo Education which is a new educational tool provided by the WFNRS free to its members.  Galileo Education is a clinical decision support tool focused on teaching neuroradiological differential diagnosis to radiology trainees and practitioners.  This web-based software product provides users a consistent and structured approach to the interpretation of brain MRI scans.  
Using Galileo Education on a regular basis can accelerate and document neuroradiological diagnostic skills.”

We are commencing the planning of the Symposium Neuroradiologicum XXII to be held in New York City in May 2022. This World Federation of Neuroradiology Societies (WFNRS) symposium is held internationally every 4 years and has not been in the United States since 1998. It will be hosted by the ASNR, immediately prior to ASNR's Annual Meeting, and promises to be an exciting and well-attended event.
